OpenEats releases first Beta

After many months OpenEats releases its first beta, of 1.0.  This is the second release for the beta version, the first having some bugs I discovered right before packaging.  This new release introduces several new features and bug fixes.

  • Wild card Searching
  • New Grocery list feature to add ingredients from a recipe
  • Pantry list, ignores ingredients that you commonly have and they won’t be added to the grocery list
  • New Quick List allows you to add common items to any grocery list in a single click
  • Share grocery list via email or print them *Easy delete of grocery list
  • Recipe Planners, and menus are shared and can be seen by all registered users by default, but you can now also mark them “private” so that only you can see them
  • New designed users profile page
  • Recipes keywords are added to the meta of each page
  • Improved stars for the rating system
  • Removed old unused code and repeated code
  • Fixed the RSS Feed feature *First alpha release of a very basic installer
  • Updated install docs
  • FAQ and Disclaimer can now be edited in the app instead of editing the php files
  • Lots of bug fixes

Go download it now and give it a try!  To give it a test drive, head over to http://www.openeats.org
